Congratulations to Lucy Walker and the team at Lucy Walker Chemmart Pharmacy

Since our last news broadcast one of our Goondiwindi Chamber of Commerce Members received a prestigious national award. Lucy Walker’s Chemmart Pharmacy is the Guild Pharmacy of the Year. This is a national award, and we send our congratulations to Lucy Walker and her team for building such a strong business that puts Goondiwindi on the map.

Business Breakfast

Speaking of strong businesses in Goondiwindi, we are hosting our next business breakfast with the theme of strategies to grow your local business. We have a great line-up of speakers for you to hear. They will be speaking about how they built their businesses and what they think makes them successful.

Tickets are available online, they are $30 each or $50 for a pair. The event is on April the 6th, starting at 6:30am for a 6:45 sit-down. The price of the ticket includes a buffet breakfast and lots of coffee.

Business Award nominations

The Goondiwindi Business Awards are coming up again. We’ve got 6 business categories; including the new community service industry award; the Senior and Junior Employee Awards, and we’re also introduced a Local Innovation award.

Nominations will be online this year, through our new Chamber website. Nominations will open on the 1st of April and close on the 30th of April.

We’ll be updating you all with more information in the coming weeks.

Outback Embrace Week: Taryn Brumfit on Friday

It’s hard not to notice all the Outback Embrace t-shirts getting about town. The event is in full swing and from what I’ve heard, there’s been a great turnout for the events.

It’s not over yet, there’s still today and tomorrow left to run. Taryn Brumfit the founder of the Embrace Movement is heading our way. Taryn will appear as the guest speaker to a special screening of her Documentary `Embrace’. The event is on Friday night at 6pm, down at the Goondiwindi Cultural Centre. If you haven’t already booked your ticket, please get in touch with Care Goondiwindi ASAP!

Sundy in Gundy Markets

Next weekend the 26th the Sunday in Gundy markets are open in the Town Park. From 8am you can sample the goods and chattels of local merchants, have something to eat, grab a coffee, and have a really nice morning out and about.

Easter on the MacIntyre

Over the Easter Long Weekend we have plenty to keep you occupied. The Easter on the MacIntyre festival has something for everyday of the long weekend. The event starts with the Tie Up the Black Dog Fashion Show where Goondiwind Cotton will release their winter range.

There are all sorts of events happening around town, everything from barefoot bowls to the fireworks on the bridge. This Easter is April 13 through April 17, check out the Council’s website for more details.
