Invite your friends and family to “Come say hi!” to Goondiwindi region

The Goondiwindi Chamber of Commerce is asking you to invite your friends and families to come and visit in an effort to get the local tourism and small business economy rolling.

The Chamber in collaboration with our local Goondiwindi Region website ( is launching its “Come say hi!” campaign to let Queensland know that Goondiwindi region is ready to welcome visitors.

Goondiwindi Chamber of Commerce President Clive Quartermaine says the campaign was inspired by our neighbours the Balonne Shire Council, who recently launched their “Welcome to our Place” campaign.

“We were so impressed by Balonne’s initiative that we’ve decided to send out a similar message. We are asking our community to send a personal invitation to family and friends throughout Queensland to come and enjoy the many attractions and local shopping our region has to offer,” Clive said.

“The Goondiwindi region tourism relies heavily on inter-state traffic, so the 10 July border opening is too late for us to benefit from the school holidays.  Instead, we all need to support each other by welcoming our Queensland friends and family with our friendly hospitality.

“You could organise a weekend shopping or sight-seeing trip for friends, a family reunion, or enjoy a visit to another town in our region.

“Goondiwindi region is the gateway to the west, so our visitors may like to continue their road trip and discover what the Balonne region and beyond has to offer.”

Stay tuned for another exciting tourism collaboration between the Chamber and Goondiwindi Region, which we will announce later next week.
